Abstract

|
|
Application of electron microscopy in the various fields of medical science is reviewed, including basic structure of the. electron microscope and preparation procedures for electron microscopy. Achievements through electron microscopic observations in various fields of medical science are summarized in the fields of histology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and clinical application. It is emphasized that electron microscopy promoted medical knowledge from a cellular level to a molecular level and brought about an emergence of morphology and function.
